and so it begins

-Lewis Carroll (from Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)
"The time has come," the Walrus said
To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

It's funny how over the past few months, I've been obsessing over starting a blog of my own, how I've written pages and pages in my head of wonderful things to post, how I have a folder in my "Pictures" file already devoted to this blog, and yet the first words to type just don't flow through my fingers.
The first two pictures I have posted are my tribute to the "daily-syle" blogs, particularly Orchid Grey and This Time Tomorrow.  I'll admit I'm still quite the amateur at the self-photography, and I'm definitely no model!  But I think I will have fun trying to imitate the creativity of these two girls!

And so, in true form of such blogs, I give you the list:
Sweater: Forever 21 ($16?)
Belt: Thrift ($1)
Skirt: Victoria's Secret ($15?)
Tights: Kohl's ($5)
Shoes: ModCloth (Christmas Present from Mom!)

Now that that is out of my system...

Like everyone else, I suppose a blog is my new public journal.  Plus, I know I won't be taking pictures of myself in fun outfits I've put together often enough to warrant a whole blog!  This is where Lewis Carroll's words really come into play, as I may post about really anything!  For example:
Behold Manfreda undulata.  This 4" square container is sitting in the mist room of the greenhouse where I work.  I find it fascinating that the seeds remain attached to the growing seedlings!

welcome to my world...

  1. Looks like you're smelling your armpit in that second pic. Love the blog though! Great Job!
